How to Make Keto Bread with Almond Flour
Keto Bread with Almond Flour is baked in a regular size loaf pan and is as tall as a store bought loaf of bread. You’re going to love it!
All you need to make this deliciously healthy bread is almond flour, eggs, egg white protein powder, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar.
Recipe for Low Carb Bread with Almond Flour and Egg White Protein Powder
I use egg white protein powder in this recipe because it makes this bread incredibly fluffy and helps it to rise.
If you don’t have egg white protein powder feel free to experiment with something else.
If you figure out what works I hope you’ll let me know!

How To Bake Low Carb Keto Bread
When you bake this bread, be sure to place the pan on a baking sheet.
I’ve made this bread several dozen times and it hasn’t ever overflowed from the loaf pan.
However, it’s a very tall loaf and if your oven temperature is a little off either way it may cause your loaf to expand and overflow.
How To Store Keto Bread
To store this low carb Keto Bread with Almond Flour, let cool overnight, then wrap in a paper towel and place it in a ziploc bag.
It will keep refrigerated for one week when stored this way.
I haven’t tried freezing this healthy bread so not sure how long it would keep in the freezer.
What to Make with Gluten Free Keto Bread
Keto Bread with Almond Flour is delicious plain and phenomenal with butter or ghee, but it’s best when toasted!

This couldn’t be the MOST PERFECT, easy to make bread recipe there is.
YES! YES! IT IS TRUE PERFECTION!
Id post photo, but that would be twinning!!!!hehehehe
Thanks E!!!!
Elana says
N, thanks for letting me know this is the MOST PERFECT bread! We love it too. And we LOVE your wonderful comments :-)
Chase Adams says
I enjoyed the recipe even though my loaf did not turn out as I had hoped. Followed recipe without exception but did not achieve the risen height that yours did in the picture. Mine only rose about 3 & 1/2″. Difficult to diagnose unseen but I would appreciate any tips or suggestions.
Might a small amount of liquid help; say 1/2 cup of water or almond milk?
Elana says
Chase, thanks for your comment. Sometimes using different brands of ingredients than I use can make a difference. I link to each product in the ingredients portion of the recipe –use those for best results :-)
Claudio says
Hi Elana
Can I substitute egg white protein powder with normal
Liquid egg white ?
Claudio
Elana says
Hi Claudio, nice to see you here again! I haven’t tried that so not sure :-)
Buster says
It’s a shame that this recipe uses such an odd ingredient. Egg white protein powder? Who actually has that? Sigh, the search continues…
Elana says
Buster, thanks so much for your comment! If you click the highlighted link in the ingredients portion of the recipe you will find this ingredient and be able to buy it online :-)
N says
I believe it is very important to have all ingredients brought to room temperature before starting the bread.

Thank you for this wonderful bread. I omitted the egg protein powder because its not available in my tiny town and couldn’t wait — the bread is still excellent.
I have missed bread so much. I went on the grain-free/sugar free diet 7 or 8 years ago. I was up to 200 lbs and feeling like crap despite my organic whole food mostly meatless diet. I have struggled with weight my whole life, been on diet after diet, and always gained back. Thanks to “keto” or whatever you call it, I lost 60 pounds and have kept it off. But gone was my favorite thing — bread. Gone —cookies, pie all that. I only ate when actually hungry — no sport eating — because I was pretty sick of meat and vegetables and eggs.
OMFG! I am going to have an avocado and sharp cheddar sandwich!
Elana says
Lyn, thanks for letting me know this bread is OMFG excellent!
Michele says
You omitted the egg protein…but did you add anything in its place?
Nadine says
I am wanting to try this, but I don’t have a food processor. May I use my hand mixer and expect the recipe to be successful? Thank you….I made another Keto bread recipe that tastes pretty “eggy,” so was still looking for an alternative….I hope this is better.
Elana says
Nadine, thanks for your comment! I haven’t tried that so not sure :-)
Laurie says
I use an electric hand mixer, I think it works quite well. I beat the eggs separately before adding them to dry ingredients.
Elana says
Thanks Laurie!
Pam Sturgess says
Don’t have a food processor….just a portable mixer and an immersion blender. So used the portable mixer. Could you comment please on the consistency of the batter? It came out like peanut butter…maybe a little less stiff…
Pam Sturgess says
Guess I should have added an egg. Very dense and very almondy taste. Would have preferred a more eggy taste. I think knowing what the batter should look like would help. Wish I’d followed my instinct and added an egg.
Elana says
Pam, thanks for your comments! Yes, this is a stiff thick batter that yields a dense yet fluffy bread :-)

I’m so grateful to have found your site. I’m gluten intolerant and, unfortunately, super susceptible to candida. Your recipes make me feel like I can have normal foods, but still stick to my diet.
I made this bread yesterday and while it takes a little getting used to, it’s delicious toasted with almond butter. yum!
Elana says
Lindsay, great to meet you here! I’m so happy to hear you are enjoying my recipes and that this Keto Bread is delicious :-)
suzanna says
This bread rose beautifully, unfortunately even though I followed the directions exactly, the bread did not cook in the middle. It also had a bitterness to it, that made it hard to enjoy. I’m intrigued enough to try tweaking the recipe a little to see if I can make it taste better and cook evenly. I’ll let you know my results.
Elana says
Suzanna, no need to tweak the recipe, I made it yesterday and it was perfect. The key is to use the brands of ingredients that I link to in green text in the ingredients portion of the recipe :-)
Chelsea says
Can you use another type of flour? I am allergic to Nuts.
Elana says
Chelsea, I haven’t tried that so not sure. Here’s a link to my Nut-Free Recipes page for you:
