The Grain-Free Diet is a popular diet. I went strictly grain-free in 2001. Back then it wasn’t easy being a grain-free trail blazer! People thought I was a little crazy. But I knew what worked for me.

When I started this blog in 2006, no one had heard of the Grain-Free Diet. Now there are many names for it. Some people call it the Paleo Diet, while others refer to it as the Primal Diet.

I’m here to help you on your grain-free journey! Every recipe on Elana’s Pantry is grain-free. I went on a Grain-Free Diet after being on a Gluten-Free Diet for a couple of years. While it was a step in the right direction, I needed more to repair my gut from the damage of celiac disease. The Grain-Free Diet did the trick!

I follow the Grain-Free Diet in the strictest form. I do not eat corn, rice, or grain-like seeds and grasses such as wild rice, quinoa, amaranth, millet, and buckwheat. I also do not eat potatoes, which I mention here even though they are not a grain. All of my recipes are gluten-free, as well as grain-free.
