If I’m allergic to almonds, can I replace it with ground up walnuts?
Elana says
Cherie, thanks for your comment, I haven’t tried that so not sure :-)
Nancy Seguin says
Mine are not cracker crispy. Dare i cook them more? I am afraid of overcooking. Precious ingredients. Thank you
Elana says
Nancy, thanks for your comment! Happy to help and I have a few ideas. First, my recipes are brand specific, did you use one of the brands of almond flour used in this post:
https://elanaspantry.com/almond-flour-ingredient/
Also, I find that rolling the dough out thin can help with crispiness. In fact, I keep a tape measure in the kitchen to make sure I roll the dough out to the measurement I specify in each recipe. Finally, if your crackers aren’t as crispy as you want, you can put them back in the oven at 150 degrees for 20-30 minutes to dry them out. LMK if you have any other questions or if there is any other way I can help :-)

These are delicious as is, but if you want to make them even better, try mixing a tablespoon or two of an “everything bagel” seasoning in to the dough! I’ve been making them like this for the past month and they are now my go-to cracker. Thanks for a great recipe, Elana!
Elana says
Thanks Courtney! Glad to hear this is your go-to cracker :-)

Flax egg. Just ground flax and water. The cracker will look and taste different, but they are so good!!!

Chris, thanks for your comment! I think that will work very well if you store in an airtight container and refrigerate them :-)

Wonderful, easy recipe! Elana, this a God-send! I am 7 weeks pregnant with my third, and yuck, nausea and morning sickness are rearing their ugly heads. Most of my regular snacks make me sick to think about. I want salty stuff, and I just can’t find good, gluten-free crackers from the store that don’t have scary ingredients. Then I remembered you have cracker recipes. I just made this today. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Easy and tasty, and I can even slip a piece of cheese on the cracker if I want! Next week, I’m making your goldfish crackers. Thank you for making recipes that us busy mothers don’t have to slave over in the kitchen for hours! Bless you!
