My Homemade Ranch Dressing has only 5 ingredients and is easy to make. Simply combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic, scallions, and salt in a jar, shake, and serve. Buttermilk is typically the base of ranch dressing, however, I’ve omitted that ingredient and created this entirely new and innovative dairy-free ranch dressing recipe.
We like to use this healthy salad dressing as a dip for vegetables, and as a condiment on sandwiches. Homemade Ranch Dressing is also incredible on my homemade Cobb Salad.

I recently was honored to be featured on Paige Orloff’s Sisterhood Project website as one of her favorite foodie blogs. Paige moved from LA to Upstate New York a couple of years ago and is a fantastic and inspiring writer. I also want to thank one of my favorite readers, Shirley of Gluten Free Easily, for bestowing the Primio Dardo award upon me. Shirley never ceases to impress me with her great website, upbeat attitude, commitment to gluten-free living, and motor cycle riding.

This recipe is amazing!! I brought this with raw veggies to a family event and it was a hit. I’m gluten sensitive and have candida albicans… Thanks Elana for the wonderful recipes!

Wow! I just tried this and added some dill and cajun seasoning – this dressing is awesome! I can’t wait to bring this up for our Christmas lunch with my family.

I always thought that ranch dressing was more complicated to make (maybe it is, but Elana always helps to make recipes easy)! I tried this with egg-free canola mayo since I couldn’t get my hands on the grapeseed oil mayo when I needed it. My mayo must have been more acidic, so I added a couple of tablespoons of coconut milk to balance it out, plus a couple pinches of oregano and basil for an added herby flavor. Everyone loved it! In fact, it reminded me of this dressing I would buy at WF in my dairy days… thanks for being such an inspiration Elana!

We made lettuce wraps with grilled, seasoned chicken, tomatoes, avacado, a small slice of uncured organic ham, goat feta, and this dressing…SOOO TASTY! Thanks Elana!! I now have a great dip for my husbands grilled chicken wings again:}

Hi ~M, Thanks for your comment! We use the small sized mason jars and they work great, no leaks.

I was wondering whether you had any suggestions for transporting salad dressing in packed lunches. My husband and I put our (undressed) salads in pyrex, but every container we’ve tried so far for dressing leaks. Thanks!

When we pack our salads, we usually put our dressing in a small Tupperware midget. Yes, I know it’s plastic, but until we find something better we’ve been using this. Not sure if this is what you are looking for.

I never realised ranch was so simple :) I will try this as I bought a bottle from my local organic store the other day and it was disgusting.
