My Homemade Ranch Dressing has only 5 ingredients and is easy to make. Simply combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic, scallions, and salt in a jar, shake, and serve. Buttermilk is typically the base of ranch dressing, however, I’ve omitted that ingredient and created this entirely new and innovative dairy-free ranch dressing recipe.
We like to use this healthy salad dressing as a dip for vegetables, and as a condiment on sandwiches. Homemade Ranch Dressing is also incredible on my homemade Cobb Salad.

I recently was honored to be featured on Paige Orloff’s Sisterhood Project website as one of her favorite foodie blogs. Paige moved from LA to Upstate New York a couple of years ago and is a fantastic and inspiring writer. I also want to thank one of my favorite readers, Shirley of Gluten Free Easily, for bestowing the Primio Dardo award upon me. Shirley never ceases to impress me with her great website, upbeat attitude, commitment to gluten-free living, and motor cycle riding.
Here are some of my other healthy salad dressing and condiment recipes:

I made this tonite for my son who hasn’t had a salad since diagnosed with several food allergies. I’ve never cared much for ranch dressing but it’s always been his favorite. I had all the ingredients on hand so I thought I’d give it a try. It was simply delicious! He’s got a new favorite and so do I! He was excited also that he got his ranch back and could use it on another of his favorites, chicken strips! Thanks Elana!

I get just a tad behind on reading your blog and look what happens! I missed your very kind and gracious mention. Thanks so much, Elana! Giving you that award was my pleasure! :-)
Will definitely check out the other links you’ve shared. I trust your judgment, so I know they will all be excellent resources.
The buttermilk dressing looks terrific! Put a bunch of cut veggies with that dressing on the kitchen counter and you’ll have an empty plate and bowl in no time. ;-)
Thanks again, Elana!

I too second the idea of a soy-,egg-free mayonnaise. I LOOVE veganaise, but can’t do the soy anymore. If you have the urge to experiment on a soy & egg free mayo, I would love you for life!!!!!! :-) tee hee hee :-) Heck, you already have my adoration for the kale with cranberries and pine nuts! What an amazing creative palate you have! Thanks for everything.

One of the ingredients in Grapeseed Oil Vegenaise is SOY protein, of which I am allergic. Do you have an alternative to this ingredient?

You provided a recipe for ranch dressing. I don’t see an ingredient in the list that provides the white color. A reader blogged something about mayo. Was that ingredient left out of the ingredient list?

I was so happy that Paige (my neighbor nowadays, which is how I met her and invited her to help start The Sister Project, which is what I do when I’m not gardening) turned me on to your blog with all its tricks like this great one.
I feel a serious bout of cooking coming on. Thanks for the inspiration (and the nice words about Paige).
