These 7-ingredient Green Chili Turkey Burgers are a super popular paleo recipe. Made with ground turkey, green chiles, cilantro, onion, cumin, chili powder, and salt, my loaded paleo burgers are stuffed with spicy goodness! Better yet, they are an absolute cinch to throw together.
One of our favorite paleo dinners is Green Chili Turkey Burgers served with my No Potato Salad, and Bubby’s Cucumber Salad. We make the burgers on the grill during the summer, and fry them up in a pan when we have cold weather.
Green Chili Turkey Burgers
- 2 (4 ounce) cans diced green chiles, drained
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup cilantro, finely chopped
- ½ cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon celtic sea salt
- In a medium bowl combine turkey, chiles, cilantro, onion, cumin, chili powder, and salt
- Form into 8 patties
- Grill 4-5 minutes per side
Green Chili Turkey Burgers are based on a recipe created by Mark Sisson called, Fried Eggs Over Green Chili Burgers.

This post is an oldie but goodie from the archives, I first published this recipe in 2010.
Hi Elena, can these be baked and if so what temperature and for how long?
Jeannette, I haven’t tried that so not sure :-)
This has been one of our favorite ‘go to’ recipes for several years. I double the recipe and then freeze some for later! Thank you for your great recipes!

I halved the recipe and tried them tonight! It was SO GOOD, but if/when I made/make them again, I’d probably cut down the cilantro, because it kind of overwhelms the Hatch chiles.
Also, I noticed that the recipe says to divide the pound of turkey into quarters, but says it makes eight servings. Is that correct?
Elle, thanks for your comment, the 8 burgers make 4 servings, so 2 burgers per serving :-)
