These 7-ingredient Green Chili Turkey Burgers are a super popular paleo recipe. Made with ground turkey, green chiles, cilantro, onion, cumin, chili powder, and salt, my loaded paleo burgers are stuffed with spicy goodness! Better yet, they are an absolute cinch to throw together.
One of our favorite paleo dinners is Green Chili Turkey Burgers served with my No Potato Salad, and Bubby’s Cucumber Salad. We make the burgers on the grill during the summer, and fry them up in a pan when we have cold weather.

Susan jones says
Elana what can I substitute for the chili’s, I am allergic to them but can have everything else?
Elana says
Susan, thanks so much for your comment. I haven’t tried that so not sure, feel free to experiment :-)

Hi Elana, you have some good recipe ideas, however just curious why you have so many chicken and turkey recipes and no red meat which is much more nutritious . Same for breakfast recipes without any or few egg recipes. Perhaps you still unnecessarily fear the fat and dietary cholesterol.
Elana says
Valerie, thanks for your comment! I don’t like the taste of red meat, but it’s my main source of animal protein since I went on the Keto Diet in 2014, and you’ll see this reflected in the next book I write. My existing books have many recipes for eggs in them. For more high-fat recipes go here:

Lindsay says

Elana says
Lindsay, I haven’t tried that so not sure :-)
Barbara A Hust says
Elana – I do not have ground turkey – could i use ground chicken instead?
Elana says
Barbara, I haven’t tried that so not sure :-)

Elana I just want to tell you that I have made many of your recipes from this web site and own both of your books. I make at least one of your recipes every week. My husband and I are big fans and are very grateful that you have put in the time and love to create recipes that taste great for “Paleo people.” We never feel deprived anymore! Specifically, we make this turkey burger recipe along with your “no potato” salad and they go great together! Thank you, Elana!
Elana says
Tiff, you’re very welcome! I’m so happy you are enjoying my recipes and books :-)
Tina says

Made these tonight and they were absolutely delicious! My family and I loved these burgers.
My husband and I ate ours without a bun, and instead smothered them in sauteed veggies and had sweet potato fries on the side.
Elana says
Amy, I’m so happy to hear these burgers were absolutely delicious and that you and your family loved them :-)
