Peach Crisp Recipe with Fresh Peaches
I prepare this recipe with luscious fresh peaches, but we have made it with frozen peaches too.
Peach Crisp Made With Frozen Peaches
If you make this with frozen peaches, be sure to let them thaw completely before you make the crisp.
When I used frozen peaches, they took around three hours to thaw out to room temperature.
My healthier Peach Crisp recipe is the perfect example of a great gluten free, grain free, low carb dessert that won’t leave you with a high carb hangover. Enjoy!
Peach Crisp Recipe With Almond Flour

Ingredients
- 2 pounds peaches, sliced
- 1¼ cups blanched almond flour (not almond meal)
- ⅛ teaspoon celtic sea salt
- 2 tablespoons salted butter or palm shortening
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- ⅛ teaspoon vanilla stevia
Instructions
- Place peaches in an 8 x 8 inch baking dish
- In a food processor, combine almond flour and salt
- Pulse in butter, maple syrup, and vanilla
- Sprinkle topping over fruit
- Bake at 350°F for 35-45 minutes
- Remove from oven, then cool and serve
Diagnosed with Celiac Disease
I started creating healthy dessert recipes when I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 1998, during the Dark Ages of gluten free.
At that point, following a gluten free diet became critical.
Over the years, I’ve learned how important eating low carb is as well, given that celiac and diabetes ride on the same gene –having one increases the likelihood of having the other.

Try sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds ground into flour in a coffee grinder or high-powered blender instead of the almond four. I’ve used pumpkin seed flour in Elana’s pumpkin bread, and it worked beautifully.

That’s exactly how I make it, adjusting your original recipe! The almond flour is so sweet to begin with, I kept cutting the maple syrup every time I made it, and now add just a dab mostly for flavor! No organic peaches available without driving to the big city, so making a variation with pears and apples tonight! Our family & friends love this recipe, and it’s great for dutch oven cooking, too, at home or camping! Glad to hear of your successes in cutting the sweetness!
