Perfect for holiday parties and potlucks, this chocolate bark recipe is a favorite of mine. It’s another gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan dessert that doesn’t taste it. And for those with no food restrictions whatsoever? Who can say no to candy, let alone chocolate? See for yourself, try some.

I discovered chocolate bark at a Teaching Peace event. Teaching Peace is an incredible organization that focuses on restorative justice. David Title brought his chocolate bark to the event and I begged him for the recipe. Good man that he is, he emailed it to me later that same night!
I made a few changes, removing the dairy, sugar and brandy –you get the idea. Still, I owe David many thanks for this crunchy little dessert that flies off the plate at my house.

Are they spicy, since you’re putting so much of the cayenne? I really want to make them but need to make sure if its really a dry cayenne pepper?
Elana says
Yelena, yes they are bit spicy. Feel free to leave out the cayenne pepper if you’re worried about that :-)

I have it
Made and it’s sitting out on my counter.
Will it ever harden or did I do something wrong???
Elana says
Susan, this typically happens when semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips are used, rather than the dark chocolate chips called for in the recipe :-)

love the chocolate bark and so does my family ! I am doing a eating lifestyle change and incorporating the chocolate bark into my daily regiment of eating. I would be interested in knowing the calorie and fiber content in a ” square” and how big that square should be. I would appreciate any information you can give me. I have been a fan of your recipes for a couple of years now and I am so glad you created this wonderful web site!
