Chocolate Bark

Perfect for holiday parties and potlucks, this chocolate bark recipe is a favorite of mine. It’s another gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan dessert that doesn’t taste it. And for those with no food restrictions whatsoever? Who can say no to candy, let alone chocolate? See for yourself, try some.

I discovered chocolate bark at a Teaching Peace event. Teaching Peace is an incredible organization that focuses on restorative justice. David Title brought his chocolate bark to the event and I begged him for the recipe. Good man that he is, he emailed it to me later that same night!

I made a few changes, removing the dairy, sugar and brandy –you get the idea. Still, I owe David many thanks for this crunchy little dessert that flies off the plate at my house.

  1. Chocolate bark, its very nice and yummy amd most important of all, many thanks to you for catering everyone whether you need dairy free and gluten free bark.

  2. I made this last night and it was YUM!
I used almonds instead of pecans because my brother is allergic to pecans and I substituted ground cloves for the cayenne because I didn’t have any cayenne in my cupboard but it turned out great. I will definitely be making this again!!

    Thanks Elana.

This chocolate bark = TRULY AMAZING!!!!!!! <3
Can't wait to leave some in my father's stocking for Christmas.
Thanks for sharing this, a long with the many others.

Just checked out your website yesterday for the first time. I recently became diagnosed with celiac disease less than a year ago. I absolutely love baking, and have been baking up a storm of converted gfree recipies! Went online for some inspiration. Found yours with your bark a long with many other recipies I am excited to try.

After looking at your site (and quite a few others) – I've actually decided that I am going to start my own little blog. Possibly start up a bit of a baking business from my home.
Since I know nothing about starting a webpage or a business for that matter (science student) I was wondering if you had any quick tips you could pass a long to me

    Thanks Elana!
Happy Holidays to you and yours

    Ali

I use Nutritional data and input my own recipes. have you considered offering this info

  5. Can you share David Title’s original recipe for the chocolate bark? The brandy and dairy sound interesting. Perhaps your friend won’t mind sharing? Thanks so much. Sandra

  6. This was so amazing I practically ate the entire batch by myself. I never would have combined cayenne with chocolate-but it worked soooo well! Thanks Elana for my new favorite chocolate candy recipe!!

    • I just made the Chocolate Bark and it is truly delicious. Love Elana’s Pantry! I have the cookbook and everything I have tried is wonderful! Mazel tov – best wishes! I must embrace all that is for healthy consumption!
