I like to serve this delicious Orange Ginger Sauce with the gluten free Chicken Fingers from my book, The Gluten-Free Almond Flour Cookbook. It’s sweet enough that my children enjoy it and gingery enough for me –a perfect condiment for the entire family. I also like to dip steamed broccoli into this sauce. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do!
With all of the cold weather we’re having here in Colorado, I’ve been relying on ginger quite a bit in my cooking. In addition to this sauce, I’ve had a pot of my Ginger Licorice Tea on the stove just about every day over here. Yesterday I changed it up and made a big pot of Soothing Chai. These spicy drinks are keeping me warm in the bitter cold of this Colorado winter.

I love this dipping sauce! I wrote it straight into the cookbook under the chicken finger recipe. Elana, it’s like you left the gap there on purpose!

I made this last night after getting a good piece of fresh chicken at our health food store …
I dipped the chunks of chicken in corn starch, deep fried ever so quickly, so they were just barely tan and “OH SO MOIST”, served with jasmine rice and poured this sauce over it all … OMG … I want this several times a week …. so simple to make and wonderful deliciousness …
Thank you Elana~

This sounds terrific! I wonder if apple cider vinegar would work as a sub for the plum wine vinegar? It’s probably not as sweet, so it might not work. Love this sauce though. Sounds perfect for dipping veggies!

Thank you for posting such wonderful recipes. I’m looking forward to trying this one – I love ginger and orange. I saw your gluten-free almond flour cookbook at my nutritionist’s office the other day and just ordered it for myself. All of the recipes looked so delicious, I can’t wait for it to get here!

Thanks for the recipe, Elana. Since I had planned steamed broccoli for dinner anyway (thanks to your inspiration after reading about you eating two heads of it for dinner) I made some of this sauce and drizzled it on top. It was a nice change to plain veges, and I like the ginger/orange combo. Yum!

Orange and ginger is such a lovely combination. I’d like to try this as a salad dressing, maybe with some mixed greens and arugula, cucumber, radishes and chickpeas.

This looks delicious! I also live in Boulder and our ginger stores are dwindling for the same reasons. I bought a bottle of ume plum vinegar probably over a year ago, in hopes of using it in one of your recipes. I haven’t quite figured out how to best incorporate it into my cooking; it’s still a new flavor for me! : )
