If you’re the type of person that isn’t fooled by the growing volume of processed gluten-free goodies on grocery store shelves, you will love the forthcoming book Eat Like a Dinosaur from the Paleo Parents. This book is full of family friendly, super healthy, and may I say, super delicious, recipes. And I am proud to say that I wrote the forward to it.
You will love the recipes for 50-50 Bacon Burgers, Chocolate Chip Cookies (date sweetened) and everything in between. The book is simple, with fabulous illustrations as well as tips for how to get your children to gobble down healthy food while living in a world that pushes processed fake foods.
Here are some of my favorite features:
- Ancestral-based approach to eating
- Over 100 quick and easy, fun, family friendly recipes
- Special chapter for parents, sharing tips and tricks on how to approach a diet change with your kids
- Visually highlights top 8 allergens so that kids can self-identify recipes that work for them
- Allergen index in the back
Watch a video preview of the book below with Stacy, Matt, Cole, Finian, and Wesley!

They don’t list ingredients nor do they appear to be paleo or even gluten free. They do look delicious but probably the wrong audience.

Yes, I know how processed gluten-free products can be! I looked at the ingredient list for some gf bagels yesterday and the ingredients included sugar and partially hydrogenated oil. What’s more, one of the main ingredients was corn starch! Yikes! I’ll have to check out the book! I love kid food lol!

I have just been diagnosed with a pretty severe gluten sensitivity and when I have browsed the gluten free section of the grocery store, I am disappointed that a lot of the items that are gluten free have soy in them as an emulsifier/binder. Soy is harmful on many levels. Wondered if there was a brand that any of your readers could recommend to me?
Excited about the cookbook! I have two young kids and they will be thrilled to try some new healthy recipes!

Amy, as overwhelming as it may sound at first, the best brand is going to be the one that comes out of your own kitchen.
Baking with almond flour and coconut flour is easier than you’d expect, especially almond flour. You may never want store-bought again. And, of course, you know every single ingredient that goes into it.

Elana, I absolutely loved your Foreword in Stacy and Matt’s book! I’m sure it sold more than a few copies for them. You nailed the heart of their book in that, and here, too; it’s a wonderful resource! I’ve been toting it around to some yucky appts of late. It’s really brightened my day as I’ve read it, and I’m an adult with no kids at home! ;-) Truly it’s great for everyone, but especially a gift to families who want to eat healthy and have their kids with them in the kitchen, learning exactly what that means. :-)
xoxo,
Shirley

I love your intro to this review. It is disheartening to see how much processed food is marketed directly to those with health concerns. Never mind how absurdly overpriced it is. It simply isn’t really food. Hurray for good, real food!
