I must confess, since it’s summer and the hot weather has finally set in, I’ve been doing a lot of raw eating, that’s what inspired me to add the lovely recipe above from Brigitte Mars. On really hot days, I make a raw blender salad in my [vitamix] with greens from my garden, avocado and nuts. I’m loving eating this way while the weather is warm and my digestive fires are high.
I hope you all have a lovely Fourth of July and enjoy the weekend!

Hey Elana-Happy 4th! Just logged on after a fabulous weekend in the mtns with our son and his friends. Wow–thanks so much for including my recipe and blog in your holiday roundup! I’m honored as always. I know most of these wonderful blogs, but can’t wait to check out the others. The blender salad sounds great. Greens, avocados, and nuts–all my faves! I will check out the recipe and Brigitte Mars info more as well. I’ve been really enjoying raw green smoothies for morning breakfasts lately. :-)
Thank you, Elana!

This is a fabulous variety of dishes. We’ve been eating raw as much as possible, too. Texas heat has been over 100 every day…keeping the kitchen cool has been high on our priority list.
