With 7 healthy low-carb high-fat ingredients, this Keto Strawberry Lime Smoothie recipe is a cinch to make! Just throw coconut milk, strawberries, protein powder, MCT oil, lime juice, sunflower lecithin, and stevia in a blender and voilá, you’ve got a wonderfully healthy keto smoothie.

My boys are big fans of this easy ketogenic recipe. I’ve been making it since they were little. The combination of strawberries with a zing of lime is totally amazing. Here’s the recipe so you can make your own!

  1. Place all ingredients in a vitamix and puree on high speed until smooth
  2. Serve

I use MCT oil in my Keto Strawberry Lime Smoothie recipe because it can raise blood levels of ketones which are a fantastic clean burning source of fuel for the brain. Among other things, ketones can reduce brain inflammation and increase production of brain derived neurotropic factor (BDNF).

Sunflower lecithin is another ingredient that is key to brain health. Lecithin contains phosphatidylcholine, a phospholipid that helps digest and breakdown fat. Phospholipids help fat cross the barrier of the cell membrane in order to get into the cell. If you’re not into the biochemistry of lipid metabolism, I can tell you in short, that a Keto Diet works very well for me, but even better when I use special brain-boosting ingredients like MCT oil and sunflower lecithin.

  1. Hi Elana, I love your website and all these amazing tips and recipes. I just clicked on sunflower lecithin and thought you might like to know about a product report. I pasted it below:

    UPDATE: 1/6/2015 Please see photos. I re-ordered this product but what I received is not the same. Although the container states it is the same weight, it is about half the size of my original order. The serving size has remained the same at 3 Tablespoons (15grams) but the calories have increased from 75 to 110. Total Fat grams have increased from 8gm to 11gm. Sodium has increased from 5mg to 10mg!! It also no longer states the ingredients. First order stated the ingredients as Sunflower Lecithin. I am returning my second order and will NOT be ordering this again from this supplier. I am so very disappointed and changing my rating from 5 stars to 1.

    • Suzie, thanks for reaching out about this! We contacted the company and also reordered so that we could look into the issues above. We measured the contents of the container and the weight is accurate as stated. The company said that they have had to change suppliers a couple of times now and that they are required to use the nutrition information that the supplier provides. We really appreciate you bringing all of this to our attention :-)

      • Hello, I also clicked on the lecithin link and in the reviews someone commented, “The packing slip indicated that an ingredient on this product will cause cancer, per proposition 65 in CA.” They do not state what the ingredient is – could it be hexane used as a solvent to separate the fats? I hesitate to order if such a warning is in the container. Thank you.

        • Lori, thanks for your comment and for checking in on this. We spoke with the company and they told us that this may be because of a naturally occurring substance in the product, not something that is added :-)

  2. I made this today with frozen blueberries and lemon juice. I didn’t have lecithin, and I substituted coconut oil for mct oil. It was delicious! I am looking forward to trying your other keto smoothie recipes (chocolate is next!).

  3. I just made this as I am working on adapting to keto. The kick of lime in it is so amazing! It feels like I am drinking some sort of decadent treat! I love that it makes leftovers so I can have some tomorrow!

  4. Very solid recipe. I’ve made it 3 times in less than a week. I used lemons instead of limes, and used about 3 slices with peels removed. I’ve yet to find a keto recipe of yours I don’t like, and I’ve made most of them. Thank you!

  5. Wow! Just made this with organic frozen mixed berries and almond milk. The lime juice really adds a nice kick and could it be that the lecithin holds the smoothie together better? Once again, Elana, your recipes make my whole day brighter. Thanks!
