I love fudge, I do. The only trouble with it is that most fudge is so sweet I usually feel sick to my stomach after eating it. Needless to say, it’s been years, maybe even decades, since I’ve had fudge.

This recipe was adapted from one by Pam Vagnieres‘ in an article called Make Your Own Protein Bars that ran last year in my local newspaper The Daily Camera. These high protein, gluten free power bars are easy to make and remind me of a Lärabar, though these are super fresh since they’re homemade, and they’re also not quite as sweet.

I’ve been on a gluten free Hamantaschen rampage the last few days and these are my latest and greatest. I’ll be serving them at today’s Purim party for my younger son’s Chavurah. We’re having 7 families over in a little while to celebrate Purim and the story of Esther.

I’m a bit of a cracker-a-holic. I think the quest for crunchy food intensifies when one goes gluten free. So, I’ve made a habit of baking crackers at least once a week, if not more. However, many cracker thieves dwell in my abode. As quickly as I make crackers they disappear. Therefore, some weeks, the cracker quest continues day in and day out.

I like to serve this delicious Orange Ginger Sauce with the gluten free Chicken Fingers from my book, The Gluten-Free Almond Flour Cookbook. It’s sweet enough that my children enjoy it and gingery enough for me –a perfect condiment for the entire family. I also like to dip steamed broccoli into this sauce. With March approaching, I’m starting to think about the possibility of a spring detox and one of my favorite healing roots –dandelion. Dandelion is a fantastic liver cleanser and spring is the perfect season for liver support.
According to Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, dandelion root has bitter, sweet and cooling properties, making it optimal for the pitta dosha.

In my opinion nature’s bounty of beautiful, nutritious vegetables is completely underrated. And beets are a perfect example of this. They brighten up any meal with their gorgeous earthy reddish-purple color and are highly nutritious to boot.

The recipe for these gluten free crackers comes from my friend Betsy
Don’t be confused by these gluten free Multi “Grain” Crackers. Because they are in fact gluten free and grain-free. That’s right, these crackers don’t contain grains. What are they made of? They contain a multitude of high protein, high fiber superfoods including almonds, flax and hemp.

We had a huge snowstorm here last night and I made my family a batch of this warming Mexican Hot Chocolate. A hot drink is perfect for a cold day, and it’s even better when warming spices such as cinnamon, chili and cayenne are added.

A piping hot bowl of this gluten free Broccoli Soup is the perfect dish for today. Why? We’re expecting a nice balmy high here in Boulder of 15 degrees, while we’re buried in snow from yesterday’s storm.

I made these super healthy salt and vinegar kale chips the other night before dinner, and was shocked, I mean absolutely shocked, that my children ate them. Not only did they boys eat these, they loved them. Trust me, while these kale chips are healthy, this is a sophisticated flavor combination for children.

I love kale. My boys love kale. Even my husband goes for it. Kale is a universally favorite vegetable in our family. And boy am I lucky since it’s a superfood. Given our collective kale obsession, I am always looking for more ways to cook kale, and this is one of my favorites.

I was thrilled to have the darling Kelly and her adorable family over for dinner during one night of Hanukkah a couple of weeks ago. I am digging this yummy Christmas Chocolate Bark. Studded with rich pistachios, tart dried cranberries, and speckled with coarse chunks of salt, it’s a winner.
I believe the ideas for this flavor combo came from the fabulous Alison. I think this bark would make a wonderful gift for the holidays. Just don’t eat too much of it, as it’s very addictive.

This super tart cranberry dressing is the perfect gluten free addition to any fall meal, and is ideal for Thanksgiving. Cranberries are a superfood, rich in antioxidants. I like to sprinkle fresh cranberries on my salad when I use this dressing. Because they are so mouth-puckering and tangy, I spare my husband and children, by using fruit sweetened, dried cranberries as a garnish on their salads, rather than the fresh ones.

My boys love these carrot fries hot out of the oven. I like baking them as it eliminates the messy splattering that results from the typical preparation of French fries –frying.

Oven Roasted Broccoli is a quick, easy and super healthy dish for your entire family.
