I recently received this comment from a reader who subscribes to my email feed:
“I’m not interested in non-raw food recipes–as perhaps many others who view your postings. Perhaps you could, to avoid wasting such people’s time, simply note that this is a cooked food recipe, and then people can make an informed choice.”

I love apple sauce in any weather. The thought of turning on the oven to make some right now? Or lighting up the stove? In this heat? Not a good one. What to do? Make raw apple sauce. I love the season of late fall, just before the winter solstice. The days get super short –well, I don’t love that. Nevertheless, I enjoy the chill in the air and seeing the mountains covered in snow.

Dates are an excellent source of energy and rich in B Vitamins.
Stuffed dates are as as sweet as candy, so of course, children like these treats. Adults enjoy the delicate blend of flavors.
1 cup pistachio nuts, shelled
¼ cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
1 teaspoon orange zest
1 pinch celtic sea salt
20 large dates
