This dairy free peanut butter protein shake is a great way to start the day. I like to drink it before I go to the gym –the protein (about 50 grams) gives me energy during my entire workout, and then some.
I’ve been on a major peanut butter kick lately, in fact, this is my third gluten free peanut butter recipe in the last week or so. Earlier, I posted my Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies, after that I posted my […]

These peanut butter cookies are gluten free, grain free and vegan to boot. I based them on Heidi’s Peanut Butter Cookie recipe over at 101 Cookbooks, one of my favorite websites. Though I did cut the amount of sweetener in half and make a couple of other changes.
I have been on a bit of a peanut butter kick lately. I didn’t eat peanut butter for a long time. I just didn’t feel great when I ate it, however, I’m feeling […]

Last night I had a hunkering for gluten free peanut butter cookies. I went over to Elise’s site, Simply Recipes, and found a yummy looking recipe for gluten-filled Peanut Butter Cookies. I experimented a bit, made a couple of changes to her recipe and came up with a nice gluten free cookie dough. I then decided that it might be fun to make a gluten free peanut butter and jelly cookie.
So here you have it, high protein, gluten free peanut […]

I love fudge, I do. The only trouble with it is that most fudge is so sweet I usually feel sick to my stomach after eating it. Needless to say, it’s been years, maybe even decades, since I’ve had fudge.
However, when I stumbled across this recipe for Peanut Butter Fudge by Laura Dolson, I knew I could have my fudge and eat it too! Her recipe uses peanut butter (instead of the usual butter), and alternative sweeteners, rather than sugar. […]

My boys and I love eating this sauce over fish and chicken. It’s also great on top of salads. Now that we’re settled back in after a wild weekend that took us straight from Blogher into Yom Kippur, I will be making this to serve with our dinner tonight. I’ll serve it over salmon and greens and I know that the boys will lap it up, as they always do.
Tangy Peanut Sauce
½ cup creamy peanut butter or creamy roasted almond […]

Purely Decadent’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl Ice Cream
This is my family’s favorite ice cream. I’d have to say they like it quite a bit more than my homemade Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream.
When I posted that recipe last week, several people asked if I had heard of various brands of store bought vegan, gluten free ice creams. Yes, I have and here it is. Purely Decadent comes in quite a few flavors and I can attest that each one I have […]

How low can you go?! This gluten free chocolate peanut butter tart is sweetened with a delicious alternative sweetener that I have been enjoying of late –yacon syrup.
This lower glycemic sweetener is derived from the yacon plant which is often referred to as “apple of the earth.” Yacon is high in fructooligosacharides (FOS), a form of fructose that is lower in sugar than others and is in fact, also a pre-biotic. This sweetener feeds the friendly bacteria in the […]
