Classic fruitcake turned Paleo, this healthy gluten free dessert is great with a cup of tea.
During the holidays I’m always looking for yummy treats to eat that won’t leave me with a high-carb hangover. This paleo dessert recipe for a moist, gluten free fruitcake fits the bill. Sweetened with one tablespoon of coconut sugar, along with dates, raisins and dried cherries, my Paleo version of this classic treat is great with a cup of tea, Dandelion Root Coffee, or makes […]

Naturally sweetened Paleo banana bread is easy to make with low carb gluten free ingredients including almond flour.
This Paleo recipe for banana bread is a high protein gluten free treat that is quick and easy to make. When I posted my recipe for Paleo Bread, the feedback was so amazing that I knew I’d need to come up with more gluten free Paleo bread recipes for you all.
I’ve been working on this Banana Bread recipe for a couple of […]

I love fudge, I do. The only trouble with it is that most fudge is so sweet I usually feel sick to my stomach after eating it. Needless to say, it’s been years, maybe even decades, since I’ve had fudge.
However, when I stumbled across this recipe for Peanut Butter Fudge by Laura Dolson, I knew I could have my fudge and eat it too! Her recipe uses peanut butter (instead of the usual butter), and alternative sweeteners, rather than sugar. […]

I’ve been slightly obsessed with rosemary lately. I put it in everything and just can’t seem to get enough of this delicious herb. My latest rosemary victim? Gluten free Lemon Rosemary Mini Muffins made with coconut flour.
I find that rosemary almost has a buttery flavor. It’s also power packed with nutrients including iron and calcium. These gluten free muffins are more of an adult treat than something for children. I’ve been in the mood lately for tasty snacking and dessert […]

After receiving this comment about my gluten free Cranberry Nut Bread from a reader named Caroline I became somewhat concerned about the recipe. I proceeded to test it several times in response. First, though, before I share my results with you, here is Caroline’s comment:
Hello – I have just made your cranberry walnut bread using your exact recipe and strangely, my bread turned out very, very dark, as if there was molasses in it. The batter looked much lighter in […]

As I mentioned the other day, Laura Dolson’s flax bread recipe has been more than inspirational. I have used it as a starting point for many other recipes which you will see here in the days and weeks to come. Today’s recipe is for a dark “rye” bread. I like to eat this plain or lightly toasted.
Again, I was surprisingly pleased that my tasters enjoyed this bread as much as I did. It’s very versatile and also works quite nicely for sandwiches.

This hearty, gluten free bread with seeds and nuts is delicious anytime of day.
Toast it for breakfast and serve with a side of scrambled eggs. Works great along with a big salad at lunch. Or, for a quick and easy dinner, it makes a great sandwich with organic turkey, avocado, romaine, tomatoes and dijon mustard.
I think this bread would also be delectable as an after dinner treat with a smear of dairy-free butter (I’m very into this Earth […]

This gluten free, gum free and yeast free bread is great toasted and spread with goat cheese, nut butter or dipped in olive oil.
Hello Mark’s Daily Apple readers! Be sure to check out my Paleo/primal Bread recipe.
I’ve been a bit lazy in the kitchen this past week –we’ve had sandwich night twice already. I slice and toast the gluten-free bread (pictured) and then put it out with organic turkey slices, romaine lettuce, sliced tomatoes, dijon mustard, grapeseed oil vegenaise and […]

Update: Please see my updated Gluten Free Bread recipe!
We spent New Year’s in the mountains and partied a bit too hard with our friends Peter and Patrice. Though I did not drink a drop of alcohol, I somehow ended up with a contact hangover. Everyone around me was imbibing and I must have become intoxicated by association.
As part of my “post holiday” status, I will be baking and sharing recipes that are not dessert until the urge to bake sweets […]

Gluten Free Banana Bread. Gluten Free Banana Cake. What’s the difference?
Last night we went out with our friends Debbie and Mike. They are quite the non-profit duo. Debbie founded the timely and super innovative Wellness Initiative, while Mike runs Progress Now. Two cutting edge organizations out to make the world a better place. What could be cooler?
Here’s what. Their son Lee will celebrate his first birthday next week. And they have another little one due any […]
