Beat the summer heat with this refreshingly healthy green drink.
I have a new favorite green juice recipe. Although I’ve never done a full on green juice diet or green juice detox, I think that green juice has major benefits and drink it several days every week. I feel so healthy when I get a big bowl of vegetables into my diet, in liquid form, in addition to the veggies I eat all day long.
I found a mojito green juice recipe […]

When the boys were little we used to have green eggs for breakfast everyday. They grew out of that phase a while ago and now I think this Green Eggs recipe is perfect for St. Patrick’s day.
Now when I make these, I serve them with chicken breakfast links and my Dark Rye Bread (as shown above). Green eggs are a colorful, fun, super healthy, hearty way to get in green veggies at the start of your day. You can also […]

After last weeks Almond Joy Chocolate Bark post, I received this message on my Facebook Page from Suzanne Hodgman Hodsden:
That’s really nice, but what about some healthy recipes for us health nuts!
Quite a lot of interesting comments followed hers and a good debate was had by all –except me, I just post the recipes and try to stay out of the debates. And furthermore, while I don’t spend a good deal of time on Facebook, I must confess, I […]

I can tell this Green Chicken Soup is going to become one of my go to dishes in no time at all.
I love this soup because it is an easy way to take in powerfully nutritious greens. While I love my green juices in theory, in reality, my stomach doesn’t always agree with them, especially when it’s cold outside. That’s when it’s time to make Green Chicken Soup. Somehow, the carrots and kale give the soup a delicious sweet flavor, which makes this […]

The idea for this green smoothie comes from the amazing Sarma of oneluckyduck.com. I recently purchased her book Living Raw Food and am loving it. While some of the recipes can be complex, she has many that can be made in minutes.
This Ginger Cilantro Shake is a hybrid of her Cilantro-Pineapple Shake and her Bangkok Baby. Here is my version, a nice healthy green drink for Saint Patrick’s day.
Ginger Cilantro Shake
1 bunch cilantro
1 cucumber (no need to peel), cut […]

Even though summer is coming to a close, I’m still into my green juices and smoothies; more than ever, in fact. This is one of my favorites and I owe credit to Meghan Telpner as it is based on one of the recipes from the Green Cleanse on her site.
I’m running out to the airport with one of these in hand to refresh and revive me on the dash to Denver. Soon I’ll be in NYC doing signings and I […]

We are having friends over tomorrow evening for a small barbecue and I will be serving this easy, delicious, tangy salad dressing over fresh greens from our garden.
We started our garden very early and have planted literally dozens of green veggies in it. The boys are enjoying the many different types of kale that are now growing like weeds. I am particularly fond of the bitter greens –mustard and arugula. My husband loves them all and asks for a bigger […]

The 8th graders at Shining Mountain Waldorf School held a huge peach sale this week and we participated by ordering two cases. Today, the boys and I picked up 40 pounds of luscious local Colorado peaches after dismissal. Hands and faces sticky with juice, the boys dug in before we made it to the car.
Now, we are in peach heaven, flush with fruit. Accordingly, I have been rifling through recipes to find a variety of ways to put our massive […]
