My Favorite Gluten Free Valentine’s Recipes

Posted on February 12, 2008

Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us. I don’t buy into the flowers and Hallmark card aspect of this holiday. Rather than the usual hoopla, my favorite taste tester (that would be my husband) and I don’t do much, if anything at all. Simply put, I try to appreciate and show my love for him day in and day out.

On another note, who on earth decided that consumers should show their love by purchasing useless items on some specific day? The […]

Black and White Cookies

Posted on February 9, 2008

Today was a big day –I taught the first in a series of cooking classes that I will be offering quarterly.

The theme of this class was Valentine’s Day –we made the Cranberry Apricot Truffles that I have previously posted on this site, a new experimental flavor of truffles (to be revealed someday soon) and the black and white cookie recipe below, of course using heart cookie cutters, given our theme.

The class was held in the spiffy little commercial kitchen at […]

These gluten-free, egg-free, white chocolate chip cookies are a great dessert for the kids!

My younger son E, did the drawing above. He has been very into his art lately, creating a series (crayon on paper) of skateboarders doing tough jumps.

Yesterday he asked me if he could have his own flickr account (as all cool budding artists do). I thought that was a bit precocious for age seven and told him I would post his art on my flickr account. […]

A simple butter cookie recipe made with heart healthy almond flour.

I love baking cookies. This easy gluten free cookie recipe is one that my friend Mary and I like to bake when we are together. She likes it because it’s full of high protein, healthy ingredients that are Paleo/primal friendly.

I met my friend Mary on the very first day of college. She is one of the smartest, funniest people I know. A savvy foodie, she and I spent some […]

We have been working away on our Valentine’s cookies this week. The ones pictured above are my younger son’s.

This recipe for heart shaped sugar cookies is gluten and dairy free, Paleo/primal friendly and does not use refined sugar. Further, this cookie recipe uses coconut oil, of which I am a big fan.

My older son did not want to give out paper valentines, so he made cookie valentines, as pictured above. Because the children in his class have a myriad of […]
