Spicy Party Mix is a fabulous appetizer and a great healthy snack for kids. For adults, it goes really well with a cocktail; for children it’s the perfect replacement for Chex Party Mix.
Ever since the boys were little we’ve been visiting a resort in Mexico called Palmilla. It’s an old time place in San Jose del Cabo, one where Sinatra and his friends used to hang out and it’s gorgeous. This year is the first year that we have not […]

Serve tangy Mustard Lime Chicken for dinner with a side of asparagus, or any other healthy green vegetable.
I’m always on the lookout for quick and easy recipes for chicken breast, so I was mighty happy when a reader left this comment on my post for grilled Mustard Lime Chicken:

Paleo pepitas will delight your little ghosts and goblins.
Looking for a delicious Halloween snack? Spicy pumpkin seeds tossed in chili powder, olive oil and a touch of salt are a healthy treat during this junk food filled time of year.
These heavily spiced seeds are also great for the change in seasons when everyone seems to be coming down with a cold or sore throat, as chili powder is full of both anti-inflammatory and anti-infectious agents, as well as antioxidants.

Using anitoxidant rich low-carb cauliflower, this dirty rice recipe makes one heck of a savory Paleo side dish.
For those avoiding starchy high carb foods such as white rice, cauliflower rice is a wonderful alternative that is highly nutritious.

I’m always looking for high protein snacks to keep me going during the day, and especially after a good workout at the gym. I find this little Paleo snack (my favorite recipe for spicy nuts) slightly addictive and nicely satiating.
I like to eat nuts because they’re full of good fiber, fill me up and don’t leave me hungry and lagging. In […]

This recipe for Spiced Pecans is based on one I found in Dorie Greenspan’s book Around My French Table. I am in love with that book and have found so many recipes in it that are “naturally gluten free.”
I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Greenspan at Blogher Food this year where she and I both spoke on panels. On my panel, we discussed the technicalities of writing a recipe, while the inimitable Dorie (is it too familiar of […]

Yesterday, when I compiled my Rosh Hashanah Menu, I promised y’all that I would give out the recipe for my Stuffed Peppers today, and here they are. I’m glad I made that promise, since it “forced” me to make these gluten free, grain free stuffed peppers for dinner last night, and my husband and I love them. They’re quite colorful and festive, as you can see in the photo above, and mighty tasty, not to mention high protein.
The idea for […]
