It’s been a super busy week over here at Elana’s Pantry. The boys are back in school and I’m working on a couple of fun holiday articles for different magazines. In between all of that, I’m hoping to attend some fun holiday gatherings this weekend and have been looking through my recipes to figure out what to make.
Here’s a little roundup of my favorite gluten-free recipes for the Labor Day holiday.
asparagus basil salad
cucumber salad
fruit salad
applesauce
avocado dip
bbq sauce
squash fries
agave lime chicken
green chili turkey burgers
mustard lime chicken
pancakes
rosemary lemon chicken
What are your plans for this Labor Day weekend? Any special cooking ideas?

Hi Elana,
Nice spread for Labor Day. I made a variation on your Peach Blueberry Crumble (I ran out of almond flour so I had to add some coconut flour to the mix)

Great roundup! I made your peach crisp Saturday, throwing a bit of oats (GF) in the crisp part and a touch of cinnamon. SO good!

I just made your agave lime chicken last night and it was a huge hit with my family. I reduced the drippings and made it a little more syrupy (is that a word!) and drizzled it over the chicken. I’m a vegan, so I drizzed the sauce over my veggies and brown rice. OMG’sh it was soooo yummy! Thanks so much for the recipe!

Yum! I can’t wait to make the bbq chicken. Love your simple recipes and I really LOVE your cookbook. I’m not GF but do eat low-carb, your cookbook is great for carboholics!
I have a blueberry cake recipe on my blog/site that I wish could be GF as well…

Are you going to post a Rosh Hashana menu? I hope so… I found some recipes for the high holidays on another blog that you may want to look at: http://digestivewellness.blogspot.com/2010/09/high-holidays.html

If I lived close by, I would have a get-together nearly every weekend so I could feast on the yummy dishes you would bring ;-)
My plans for this weekend are- work for me today but after that, spending time with my hard working hubby because he finally gets a day off! wooo! And for special cooking ideas- I’m boring there, but my husband will be making up a variation of some of your scones (from your cookbook) this weekend. He says they will taste “bloody beautiful” so I’ll let you know how they turn out!
