I don’t know what will I do for valentine’s day since I will be spending it alone or with hubby who is thousands miles away from me.

I love chili and chocolate but cherries and chocolate are just as good. This time the candies came out all in one piece. They were shinier too so i wonder if i ‘accidentally’ got it tempered. Thank you for the tips.

Sarah -So glad the husband loved them! Yes, sometimes I wonder about the accidental tempering. I too have begun painting the candy molds and find it works much better. :-)

Hi Elana, I made the chocolate covered cherries for valentine’s day and my husband LOVED them:) He said they were much better than the store bought ones.
I had such a hard time getting them out of the molds. After the first batch came out in pieces (the bottom of the chocolate fell out with the cherry on top, then i had to dig the rest of the chocolate out of the mold) I grabbed my candy thermometer to try tempering the chocolate. I washed it and as i was drying it off it broke! So for the second batch I tried sprinkling some cocoa in the mold to see if that would help. No luck, same result as before. I now had a big gooey pile of chocolate cherrie pieces:-}
For my third and final attempt after putting the bit of chocolate in the mold i took a clean paintbrush and painted a layer of chocolate up the sides of the molds. This time the candies came out all in one piece, Yay! They were shinier too so i wonder if i ‘accidentally’ got it tempered. Idk…
Anyway they were delicious, thanks so much for this recipe:-)

Irene -Thanks for your comment. I have an FAQ that answers your substitution question. I think this post in my forums might also be of help.
Penny -Great! I’m really into raw chia seeds; haven’t tried baking with them; if you do please let me know how it goes.
Ali -Thanks! Glad you liked my little list :-)

Wow, these all look so good! Where to begin? I love chili and chocolate but cherries and chocolate are just as good. Great idea to put all of the links in one place. -Ali :)

Hi Elana,
Thank you for your wonderful recipes. Today I will be making the amazing looking chocolate cookies. I have been wondering if you are doing more experimentation with chia seeds. I’d love to know if you are baking with them as well as making your pudding.
Thanks!
Penny

hi,
i wanted to know if you could recommend any possible substitute flour for the blanched almond flour used in your recipes because i have a daughter with a severe nut allergy and so we are nut-free home.
thanks so much,
irene
