When I discovered that Starbucks was coming out with a Chestnut Praline Latte, I decided it was on! Yes, I’m taking on the behemoth of beverages with my healthy version of this festive holiday drink. Now you can make your own dairy free Pumpkin Spice Latte with coconut milk instead of cow’s milk. Make this beverage low sugar as well by using honey and stevia in place of refined sugar. Homemade and dairy free Peppermint Hot Chocolate to keep you warm and cozy on a cold winter’s night.
Peppermint Hot Chocolate is easy to make, and far better than the instant hot chocolate that comes in a package, which is loaded with sugar and definitely not dairy free. With March approaching, I’m starting to think about the possibility of a spring detox and one of my favorite healing roots –dandelion. Dandelion is a fantastic liver cleanser and spring is the perfect season for liver support.

We had a huge snowstorm here last night and I made my family a batch of this warming Mexican Hot Chocolate. A hot drink is perfect for a cold day, and it’s even better when warming spices such as cinnamon, chili and cayenne are added.

Many apple cider recipes have sugar added to them and are overly sweet, for my taste. This recipe however goes in the other direction, I add water to it to dilute the natural sweetness of the apple juice. This also stretches the amount, making the recipe more economical.
I made this the other day during the super chilly weather and with it’s warming spices (cinnamon and cloves) it hit the spot.
