With only two more days until erev Rosh Hashanah I am putting the final touches on the planning phase of our holiday feast. Soon much cooking and celebrating will begin.

This gluten free, “Honey” Cake is a great dessert for Rosh Hashanah or any special occasion.

As fall approaches, my attention is shifting to our fruit trees. A few years back we planted a peach and two apple trees along the perimeter of our packed yard; they are now bursting with fruit, as is our dwarf plum. The 8th graders at Shining Mountain Waldorf School held a huge peach sale this week and we participated by ordering two cases. Today, the boys and I picked up 40 pounds of luscious local Colorado peaches after dismissal. Hands and faces sticky with juice, the boys dug in before we made it to the car.

The boys’ school is selling organic peaches. I ordered two cases (about 40 lbs.) for my family; we will be getting our luscious Colorado fruit this Friday at 3 pm.
